Given the choice, most people would rather a clear and subtle solution to noticeable metal braces for straightening their teeth.
The Good news is that they’re more accessible than ever!
In the last few decades, clear aligners have become a popular choice for people wanting to realign their teeth or straighten their smile.
Despite the name, clear aligners aren’t completely invisible, but they are much less noticeable than traditional braces. Instead of the wires and brackets metal braces are known for, clear aligners uses a clear covering that fits tightly over your teeth.
How Do Clear Aligners Work?
Once you’ve decided clear aligners are right for you, the process gets started!
We take a 3D scan of your mouth to create a digital image of your teeth. This gets submitted to a lab technician to customize your plan.
The whole process is pretty easy, but the customization of your clear aligners is important. Using our 3D scanner technology, we can see your treatment plan from start to finish so you can give your own approval.
Once your treatment plan is review and approved, the clear aligners are fabricated and delivered to our clinic.
The process takes about 4 weeks after the initial 3D scan for the clear aligner treatment to officially begin.
During your first visit to our clinic when your aligners arrive, we may place special teeth-coloured bumps called “clear aligner attachments” to assist the retainers in the movement of your teeth.
After that, you’re given sets of retainers to take home and you continue your clear aligner treatment at home with periodic visits to our office.
